Karen Davison is a senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk) with over 20 years experience of working in mental health within the NHS. Trained and experienced in working with individuals, couples, families and groups, Karen is also a qualified Occupational Therapist skilled and experienced in vocational rehabilitation, as well as working with workplace issues, including stress, workplace trauma and bullying. She has extensive experience of working with people following traumatic incidents and has managed and provided psychological therapies following traumatic incidents in the UK and overseas.

In her role as Counselling Services Manager for a leading employee assistance programme provider (1997 to 2003) Karen managed teams of telephone counsellors and case managers, and was responsible for the recruitment, training & development of an 800+ affiliate counsellor and psychologist network. As a senior on-call clinician, Karen was responsible for the risk assessment and clinical management of vulnerable clients and a range of critical incidents.

Karen's responsibility for the company's clinical network continued with her appointment as Head of Clinical Training and Affiliate Services where she was responsible for the development and delivery of an extensive programme of clinical training courses.

Karen has worked as a counsellor and trauma practitioner in private practice since 1994. In the summer of 2005, she moved exclusively into private practice and established Dovetail Partnerships which provides high quality bespoke training, consultancy and psychological services to clinical and other organisations; work, which ensures she is at the forefront of developments within her profession. 

Karen is positively committed to opposing discrimination.
